Teddy Aran Jacket and Ugg boots

I had a 100g of Aran yarn after making an Aran Jacket so decided to make this little jacket and boots for my bear.
It's an easy pattern, ideal for beginners.  with only 6 rows of pattern and simple cables.   I'd already made some knitted shoes (see my other posts) so it wasn't too difficult to adapt that pattern for the boots.  A faux fur trim would look good or maybe a few small pompoms

If you make this pattern please let me know how you got on by posting a comment below.

  1. Hello , I'm not very good at picking up stitches , would it work by casting on 50 stitches for collar knitting the garter stitch rows then casting off and sewing on ? Thank you x

    1. Hi
Yes that would work. Cast off the 22sts at back neck instead of leaving them on a holder
Also leave a longish strand when you cast on to sew the collar on to jacket

  2. Hi Linda, I've just finished the jacket and I'm about to start the Ugg boots. Pattern says to use 4.75mm needles. Is this right? Should it be either 4mm or 5mm? Thanks, Deborah

    1. Hi
goodness knows where I got 4.75mm from! Its been a while since I posted this pattern but think the boots are done on a smaller needle, ie 4mm to give them a firmer texture. Would you let me know how it works out on 4mm. many thanks for pointing this out

    2. Thanks Linda. I don't know whether my bear's feet are bigger than average, but I had to go up to 4.5mm needles in the end.

  4. Ooops, I nearly forgot, but I think the last instruction for the left boot (before cast off) should say 'work 7 rows garter stitch' not 6.
